How to take care of your wedding ring and jewelries

So this is the picture- your wedding ceremony is over. It’s been more than a year but you haven’t maintained your jewelry properly. You take them out to see only to see something wrong with them. What do you do? Maintaining pieces of jewelry and Wedding rings are very important. There are many things you cannot overlook after buying them. Here are some tips on how to take care of your jewelry.

Have your rings checked- Ask professionals at least once a year to let them have a look at your ring closely. Observation of the prongs, metal, gemstone, etc, must be done in a slow process. See if the stone has not loosened, metal has not bent, etc. Avoid resizing rings again and again. This reduces its quality.

Use zip-locks for jewelries- Air creates problems for jewelries. The moisture in the air messes with the metal finish and colour of the jewelry in a bad way. It eventually causes it to tarnish. While putting them in a ziplock, make sure you squeeze out all the air from it before sealing it. New jewelry designs may get tampered with because of air and you don’t want your wedding memory to fade away, do you?

Keep gold and silver separately- since gold scratches away easily, it is better than silver and gold be kept separately. Create separate boxes for them; use a soft cloth, to wrap it over. Such cloths or cotton balls protect the jewelry from each other.

Keep away from lotion or cream- do not keep your jewelry near lotions and creams. If you have to wear it, wait for it to absorb completely on your skin and then wear jewelry. Creams have chemicals that may hamper with the quality of the jewelry. So it is best to keep it away from perfume spray or any potentially harmful chemical substances.

No toothpaste please- it may be a go-to the home remedy of every household. But avoid it as such as possible. Tubes of toothpaste have chemicals too. It may be abrasive for your new jeulia jewelry designs.

Cleaning process- while some can be cleaned with warm water and mild soap, others need no- soak treatment. Depending on the kind of jewelry, use the cleaning method that is best suitable. Some only need a clean dry soft cloth, while others need professionals to clean the tiny parts.
